Lauren Ruth Ward Lauren Ruth Ward - Untwist In Time

Sewing these stitches
I'm pricking my fist
And thinking about the times you used to let me walk with you
Why do you make me believe our paths crossing is written in the stars?
There's no stars out tonight
Don't tell me that you can't be seen with me
It's not nice
Making me feel even less than what I'm not
You've got a heart of ice

These nights are getting chilly
And if you were near pride disposed
Fear swallowed
They say you try to keep a clean soul
But you have a twisted mind
Well, we'll all untwist in time

Picking the pieces I dropped on the trail of you
Gotta find a new path home
It ain't easy when my maps been torn up and chewed
I guess I should've written it in stone
Trusty stone
Hot wax you poured on my back paralyzed my spine
Climbed each vertebra
Only so it could penetrate my mind
And be there permanently
It was hot
Now I am cold

But these nights are getting chilly
And if you were near pride disposed
Fear swallowed
They say you try to keep a clean soul
But you have a twisted mind
We'll all untwist in time
